Nine Inch Nails LIVE

The Orlando show was the best NIN show I’ve ever seen (this was my 5th show). The new lineup sounded excellent and the performances were fantastic. The sound quality on-stage was really spectacular – i’ve never heard an arena sound so clear and powerful. The setlist was a great sampling of the discography. Lighting and stage setup was really cool. The show was my wife’s first NIN experience and she ranks it as one of the best shows she’s ever seen. Alex (the drummer) did a superb job for jumping on mid-tour.

Standout moments:

  • realizing the fans during March of The PIgs
  • Right Where It Belongs visuals and live arrangement
  • Aaron trying to balance on his headstock
  • Gave Up (excellent vocal effects for the verses)
  • Burn!

The Ghost That Feeds Follow-Up

So “The Ghost That Feeds” has been getting a lot of exposure. I’ve had 2 servers nearly go down for exceeding bandwidth from people downloading the track. Thousands have downloaded it. Also I have had reports of it playing on KWOD 106.5 in Sacramento, KNDD 107.7 The End in Seattle, WBRU in Providence, RI, and on a station in Southern Ontario in Canada! Pretty amazing.

whew…

I can finally be done with the documentary for a while… Lots of work. Watching Kill Bill on Dvd tonight for the first time tonight. Josh is buying it and I missed it in theaters so it should be cool to see. Going to La Nouba tomorrow with the wife. It should be a good evening! And then playing at the Social on saturday afternoon as part of the Florida Music Festival. Hopefully there will be some VIP’s in the audience. We shall see!

EDIT: didn’t get to see Kill Bill tonight after all – will have to wait until later this week…

snow is wonderful and cold

So we played last night in a town right outside Pittsburgh to a small crowd. We had some free 7 oz Rolling Rocks and played for the guys in Punchline who were the only ones rocking out to the brand new tunes. We stayed at the aunt of Nikko’s from the band Audible’s house. She cooked us eggs and bacon and toast and made some fresh coffee. We all slept well on real beds and took some nice hot showers. Its pretty uncommon to get that kinda hospitality on the road. Now we’re in the van on the way to Toledo driving through snow flurries and enjoying some music and reading my back issues of Stuff magazine. The show tonight should be pretty kickass as the promoter tells us over 300 tickets have been presold already. If you’re anywhere near Toledo (Maumee is the actual town the venue is in) you should definitely come out to Luke’s Barn tonight. Time to take a lil nap.
